TMO, US exports increase in down economy

TMO has recently completed another series of bookings, exporting approximately 140x 40′HC of High Density Fiberboard (HDF) ex USA Southeast coast to India.  Destinations in India ranged from Chennai, Pipavav and Jawaharlal Nehru (Nhava Sheva), and some of the materials even travelled inland to New Delhi and Bangalore.  TMO is providing domestic pick-up and container stuffing, ocean bookings, customs work with export documentation and visibility tracking for customer to final destinations.

TMO North America Mid-River Discharges

Last week, TMO completed the direct discharge of 75 Wind Turbine Blades from ocean vessel to river barges in US Gulf, New Orleans. These blades are en-route to our Iowa tri-modal (rail, truck & barge) transload facility.  The blades will be delivered to projects throughout the Midwest during the summer.  Thanks to our vessel, stevedoring and barge partners!

TMO North America West Virginia Wind Transload Moving ‘Ahead’

TMO successful completed the 3 month transload operation in which 80 Hubs and 66 Machine Heads were received via Rail through our West Virginia tri-modal transload facility.  These components were delivered to wind energy project sites in USA states of Pennsylvania and West Virginia.  The facility is already making preparations for more projects summer 2011.

TMO Sails First Parcels for 2011 North Atlantic Timber Trade

TMO begins loading the 2011 North Atlantic Timber Trade volumes of 10-15,000 cubic meters per month.  TMO is loading vessels at the end of each month out of North German ports for discharge to the US East Coast, Gulf and Mexico.  TMO has been offering integrated solutions from European ports through to customers on the Trade since early 2000s with regular sailings.  The timber is used in the US housing and DIY markets.

TMO South America readies for US Housing Return

TMO South America (Brazil) readies itself for competitive freights as the US Housing and DIY market returns in 2011.  TMO ships currently almost 1,000 TEUs per month from South America and Far East to the USA with finished and semi-finished building products.  As the ‘Weekend Warriors’ turn out for Spring sales in the DIY market and US Housing starts increase, TMO readies itself for increased container shipments, inventory management and cross-docking operations throughout US terminals and distribution centers.

TMO Europe Loads Stone Dumping Unit to Far East

TMO loads a stone dumping unit for delivery and installation on the new M/V Flintstone, Singapore.  The cargo was loaded in 2 pieces, one piece of 410 mt (21m x 17.5m x 17.5m) and the other of 235 mt. (25m x 18m x 16m)  The pieces were loaded in The Netherlands end of December 2010 and are to deliver mid-January 2011.  TMO is happy to be a part of the maiden voyage for the heavy lift vessel M/V Svenja.

TMO North America delivers Oil Well Installment

TMO North America consolidates and delivers pieces for an oil well construction.  Pieces came in from the Far East and were delivered into Canada.  TMO is happy with our terminal and over-the-road partners in the USA who helps us with a successful delivery!

TMO Europe Discharges Steel Plates in Amsterdam

TMO has discharged 1000 MT of bent steel plates from Black Sea to Amsterdam.  The plates are about 10 meters x 2 meters and required special shipping frames for nesting.  The cargo arrived late-October, TMO will deliver the plates on truck to the final customer over the next month.

TMO North America wind energy components shipping, from Europe via the Great Lakes

TMO has delivered 8 proto-type Nordex N100 turbines for the US mid-west via the port of Menominee, WI.  The components were loaded in Rostock, Germany.  The heaviest pieces were the nacelles of approximately 50mt each.  The turbines produce 2.5MW, specially designed for high efficiency in low and moderate wind conditions – a welcomed flexibility to the developing US wind energy market!

TMO Europe steel plate shipping, Mundra

TMO has loaded 7000 MT of hot rolled steel from Antwerp to Mundra.  The plates are about 15 meters x 3 meters and will be used for an on-going pipe manufacturing project.  The cargo arrives mid-August.  Look at the flexibility in those plates!  A fine product.

TMO Europe Bio-Fuel Plant Components, Istanbul Turkey

TMO has loaded a 50.5 m ton ‘toaster’ over 16 meters in length.  The piece has intricate technology within and has to be handled carefully all the way to Belgium, where it will be discharged directly to barge for inland navigation down to Slovakia with trucking to the final project site.  TMO is working with our experienced partners to carefully manage each handling and transport along the way.  The piece should arrive at the site at the end of August.

TMO Europe Factory Installation Export, Toronto Canada

TMO confirms successful loading and sailing of a European soil wash installation from UK and Belgium destined for Canada to be used as exhibition by the Canadian government.  TMO arranged door to door transport service and all related export and import documentation.  The shipment arrives in Canada on the 24th of July and the entire installation will arrive to the final site just two weeks later.  TMO is proud of our partners’ hard work for such tight delivery schedules on both sides of the ocean!

TMO Europe Baltic Coasters, Antwerp / Ust’ Luga

TMO sails from Antwerp, Belgium to Ust’-Luga, Russia with general cargo for off-shore and on-shore lines.  The cargo is used for further development of the port and local water-ways.  The vessel sailed on 13 July with a direct voyage of about 4 days.  She’ll sail around Denmark, not using the Kiel Canal.

TMO North America Wind Project, Oahu Hawaii

TMO North America oversees the successful reception and delivery of wind turbine nacelles and spinners in the US state of Hawaii.  TMO is arranging temporary storage, inspection and delivery of the components up to the final construction site on the island of Oahu.

TMO Out-Of-Gauge Transportation

TMO ships 14-ft flanges from US West Coast ports to US Mid-West receivers.  TMO also coordinates special permitting and route surveys.  See a recent shipment in the Galleries!

TMO North America Wind Project, Oakland Maryland

TMO North America begins delivery of Wind Turbines in the western region of the state of Maryland in the USA which should run until late September 2010.  TMO is arranging all handling, staging and final delivery of the wind components.  TMO personnel on-site coordinate with TMO personnel in production facilities and client offices around the USA.  TMO is happy with the successful start and close teamwork of all parties involved!
